Sleeping ugly's Saturday

I've been Sleeping Ugly again lately. That's because i've been lacking enough rest all week... +_+ Why? Because i'm such a douchebag who can't manage her time properly... Like on Friday, i overslept & almost missed a pop quiz x_x Anyway, yesterday, it was Saturday -don't ever expect me to break into a song with the same rhythm like Rebecca Black's Friday; i hate that song & i hate the fact that she can't even sing, yet still got signed & everything, just because her music video got lots of views & she has a somewhat pretty face- & i became Sleeping Ugly again during the 2nd half session of the soft skills program Business Grammar... & i kinda felt bad for sleeping; the speaker for the session was someone respected, & i like it that she's experienced & yet she's kind & has compassion for us students who lack even the most basic skills in the English language. She's the total opposite of _______ xp Before i felt asleep, i doodled:

At night, my friends & I went to watch a performance by the campus' Wushu Club. I guess you could say that i pretty much enjoyed the show, minus the fact that the washroom sucks & i noticed various English grammar mistakes on the presentation slides -maybe those who wrote them should register for the next Business Grammar program LOLZ I was quite taken aback though when one of the performances used the theme music from Naruto Part1 as the background music O_O

& here's the kicker about being Sleeping Ugly. Id be some nocturnal witch bat even if there's something to do early in the next morning. Most of the time, i'd be afraid to go to sleep out of fear that i can't wake up in time, thus i'll be lacking proper sleep hours & i'll be Nobita (from classic manga Doraemon) the next day..... zzzzzzzzzzz +_+

I'm way beyond rusty now...in both my presentation / public speaking skill & sketching skills... +_+ i pratically stammer & blather as if i was a retard, like Dustin Hoffman as Rainman except that how i did would've won many Razzie instead... x_x It's been a while since i actually sketch anything proper, & clearly my one trait that i'm actually proud of is already deteriorating too. I mean, judge my latest sketch yourself:

It's supposed to be a sketch of 30 Seconds to Mars' lead vocalist & actor Jared Leto, but what i managed wasn't even close... +_+ i thought my sketch of Jared morphed into a young Richard Gere or something... ARGH!!! DX

**ya'all might notice that my playlist is kinda full of love / heartbreak songs, besides some OSTs. Just to make it clear, i'm not going through that 'lovesick' or 'heartbroken-from-a-one-sided-love' phase. Yes, i'm crushing on someone, but that's just it. NOT in love, just a CRUSH-although i actually have been having thoughts of giving up this crush too, since i'm not making any progress with it... I just thought of changing my playlist, & those songs aren't that bad. I actually got to know about them from watching youtube videos where the users made stories using characters made in the computer game The Sims 2. heheh ;)

Communication

Effective communication requires mutual interaction i.e. using the same language (verbal, body, signal etc. etc.) that both sides understand, not to mention actually putting effort to give out & receive the message. If any of this is missing, there's bound to be miscommunication. I especially suffer when it involves the language. Why? It's because i don't speak much mandarin, unlike the rest of my peers, so it's frustrating when i can't understand much -i understand the language a little bit... but it's still confusing; chinese languages have different tones for words...- what they're saying x_x & frankly, i hate practicing my mandarin 'cause i hate how stupid i sound when i mispronounce the words +_+

Anyway, yesterday on the train ride home, before the train departed, there was this group of Japanese tourists & one of them said that i was in his seat. I wasn't the only one; the rest of his group also claimed other passengers were in their seats. Some of the passengers were getting a li'l bit impatient. I was confused so i checked both our tickets & turns out himself & his entire group had come on the wrong day; a whole day late. Well, i'm guessing it's a case of the tourism-agency-booking-the-tickets-for-the-wrong-date. Most of the tourists don't really understand much English, but luckily the guy who mistakenly thought i was in his seat was pretty fluent in English, so after i explained their mistake -NO, i explained in English, NOT in Japanese; 'cause if i said something with grammatical errors, he'd be like "Whut~~~"-, he in turn explained to the rest of his tour group & politely apologized for the inconvinience before they all left the train. Anyway, i didn't really mind much about their mistake. I mean, c'mon. I understand what it feels like to have language barrier. But what got my blood kinda boiling was the fact that a bunch of local bitches who were seating near me was being such assholes & kept mocking those Japanese for not being fluent with the English language. Seriously, hark who's talking. As if you twats are any better in the language. I bet none of you even know the meaning of "proficiency" when it comes to language proficiency. Grr!!! Why don't ya'all pussies take a look in the mirror?!! Oh wait. Better not. 'cause then the mirror would break into pieces; wouldn't wanna waste a good 'ol mirror with your ugliness now, would we. Just shut the fuck off & shove your words up your asses, you fucking retards. Seriously, i felt like screaming that in their faces, since they were pretty bitching up the entire journey. Then again, they might not even understand a word i say. Too complex for their microscopic brains? Oopsies? Pfft XD

Of going gothic-punk & Valentine

Lots of people i know labeled me as emo; being overly emotional, a downer, pessimist, narciscist, all that. Well, i admit; i am like that most of the time. Some people even labeled me as a goth, just that i'm minus the whole look for a goth. That got me thinking; should i go goth for real? LOLZ Of course, it would be more gothic-punk inclined, not the victorian or gothic lolita kind. The punk-gothic look impress me. Like how Avril Lavigne wore it during her sophomore album Under My Skin [2004] & Bill Kaulitz did during Tokio Hotel's sophomore album Zimmer 483 [2007] -or in their debut English album Scream [2007]. I like the color black. It's basic, simple and cool. & when added with some cool grafiti art on the T-shirt, dang! Then pair the T's up with a pair of jeans (blue, black, greenish blue XD) or cool slacks (black) with some chain straps XD LOLZ & then there're the accessories like black nail polish, some cool fingerless gloves or wristband/gauntlet, a cool puzzle ring (the color silver will be my choice), cool sneakers, & of course, the hairdo, piercings & make-up. The last 3 are the ones that're making me second-guessing about the look, though. I really don't know what hairdo will fit me, plus the fact that i don't wanna dye my hair, & i don't find the idea of wearing make-up every second comfortable, even if it's to go to class... Heck, i don't even know what & how to apply them! As for piercings, earrings are the only acceptable ones for me. Well, going punk-gothic is a plan, but i can take my time. & so what if i don't have the right make-up, as for the hair, i just need to keep finding the hairdo that will fit me. After all, it's about time for me to have makeover ;)

Ok. The title is just for gimmick, really xp But my friends & I did went to the neighboring town to hang around & watch a movie, so I guess we did travelled some miles for it XD Paranormal Activity 2. Yeah, the movie that was actually released in the US like 3 months ago, which was only screened here recently. Just like most movies from the US (The Other Guys [2010], The Social Network [2010] to name a few).

Paranormal Activity 2 [2010]

It actually depicts events prior to the 1st movie, which explains the origin of the whole haunting in the series. Honestly, i like this one better than the 1st movie. The scenes had more suspense & thrills, with some comedic ones. The hauntings are definitely scarier. & the baby boy is so cute~~~ LOLZ XD Recommended for fans of the 1st movie, or any horror-flicks enthusiasts out there.

But the whole suspense illusion of the movie is often rudely interrupted by a bunch of motherfuckers who're in the row in front of us. During scary scenes, these assholes LOL-ed as if they're watching Mr Bean or something. & they talked loudly, as if it's a crime to not let the entire audience in the cinema to hear what they gotta say. Seriously, I was holding back my anger from kicking their chairs or smacking their heads & shouting into their ears to "SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" & these twats actually think they're cool or something. Why don't you save the trouble of annoying us & just go FUCK YOURSELVES, 'YA MOTHERFUCKING PRICKS & BITCHES!!

Before leaving the mall, there was this acrobatic show. The thing that attracted me to it? Them using Indiana Jones' theme music heheh xp I mean, c'mon. There I was, walking & then suddenly that theme music reached my ears & I was like "There's a screening of an Indiana Jones movie?" LOLZ & call me whatever you want, but I think one of the acrobats' kinda cute; he looks like Korean actor Im Joo Hwan to me, at least from the distance & angle I was standing at. Just saying.

Paranoia. That one particular word expresses a lot about me. People say i think too much about things. That i have severe anxiety; be it in my studies, my relationships with people around me, safety, health, everything. & yeah, i admit, i am paranoid. & some would respond with "Chill." "Relax." "It's fine." "Don't worry too much." All those line to calm me down. But i don't buy them, most of the time... Yeah, i'm as a stubborn as a... um... what is the thing we use to compare stubbornness to (if there is the word "stubbornness"...)? Oh yeah, as stubborn as a mule. Whatever. My stubbornness that refuse to lessen my paranoia stems from my past & where i come from. Especially when it comes to safety & security. Fuck it. No one is safe in this world. That phrase is kinda like from the Terminator movies, except instead of artificial -intelligent robots, the world is crawling with assholes every nook & cranny. You can't even go out of your houses freely anymore.

Fuck. Our homes ain't that safe anymore either. Sure, home is the place when it provides shelter & a sense of security from external threats. But you know the assholes these days. They'll get all crazy shit for no reason, & do all kinds of fucked-up shits both imaginable & unimaginable, just to fulfill their fucked-up desires. Especially perverted ones. They are the sickest fucking gits that ever lived on the surface of the planet.

Seriously. Sometimes, you can't help but feel that you're trapped in in a maze, vulnerable to these fucked-up threats that are coming from every corner, no matter where you are. & that you're more alone that ever, with no one there to help you. What more with the mentality nowadays of "everyman for himself". Ever felt like Kerrigan (from Blizzard's real-time strrategy videogame Starcraft)? Weekend in BB~~ booyah

A weekend about to end, & i spent it in BB (Bukit Bintang) again lolz Stroll around the place, bought some stuffs; including a new mouse -hopefully the wire won't snap this time xp-, watched movies, tried some new food -Subway's steak & cheese; note to self: hold the pickles x_x & Moonlight Udon from the foodcourt in Lot10; not bad =] Saw lots of cute guys, but then... haiz +_+ i'm no good in trying to get their attention... T^T

Hmm, it's been a while since i've done any movie reviews. That's because most of the movies i've watched are not recently-released movies. & i'm beginning to think that for movies & whatever interests are out there, the qualities depends on the individuals. You know, kinda like the phrase, "Beauty is in its beholder". So, i'll still blog about movies & music, but without ratings & (much) criticism ;)

The Other Guys [2010]

Finally. A decent Will Ferrell portrayal as the humble-but-has-a-badass-alter-ego forensic accountant Det. Allen Gamble. Mark Wahlberg's back into his usual badmouthing-&-constantly-swearing-everytime-he's-frustrated portrayals as Det. Terry Hoitz. Genre? Obviously action-comedy. Ya'all can tell that from the trailers. & ya'all know the basic of the plot. Long-story-short, the movie is stupid, like funny-LOL-material stupid LOLZ Especially the 2 so-called cool police heroes Det. Danson (Dwayne Johnson) & Det. Highsmith (Samuel L. Jackson) Ya'all won't expect them to do what they do XD Also starring Michael Keaton (the 1st dude to portray movie-version of Batman), Steve Coogan (from Night at the Museum [2006] & Tropic Thunder [2008]), Eva Mendes (from Hitch [2005] & Ghostrider [2007]) & some cameos by Brooke Shields, Tracy Morgan & NY Yankee's Derek Jeter. Recommended for action-comedy & buddy-cop films' fans ;)

Another action-comedy, but of retired black-ops agents Frank Moses (Bruce Willis), Joe Matheson (Morgan Freeman), Marvin Boggs (John Malkovich) & Victoria (Helen Mirren) who totally kick-ass even though they're at our grandparents' age XD I mean, have you seen the part where Marvin countered a bazooka that's heading towards him with a single bullet (it was also in one of the trailers)??? Freaking awesome, man!!! XD Marvin's the most entertaining character with his eccentric & paranoid traits. Somehow, he kinda reminds me of HIMYM's Barney Stinson (Neil Patrick Harris) when he smiles like a li'l kid ^^ Also starring Brian Cox (from X2: X-Men United [2003]), Karl Urban (from LOTR: The Two Towers [2002] & The Return of the King [2003]) & Julian McMahon (from Fantastic Four [2005] & TV series Nip/Tuck) Recommended for action-comedy films' fans ;)

O..k.. =_= i've no idea why i'm writing this post; guess i'm just bored -it's been awhile since i've updated this blog... Since starting my training, i only go online on weekends, except when needed to. Even so, i don't have much to update on what's been going on. My training's fine; lab work obviously. But i really wish they have more supplies of small-sized rubber gloves -wearing the medium-sized ones is so uncomfortable & i'm more likely to get exposed to chemicals as it's quite easy for them to flow into the gloves x_x

Watched that new chick flick Life as We Know It [2010] last night with my cousin. Funny & enjoyable rom-com. Good chemistry between lead actors Katherine Heigl & Josh Duhamel ;) & the baby Sophie is so~~~~ cute~~~~ XD I give this movie a 3.5/5.

Funny thing since i started training is that i'm starting to like (well, not yet considered as faves, but in the 'not bad' category) some of the food that i pretty much hated before this -mainly from the vegetable food group xp But if any of you expect me to like, as in actually like the food from the company cafeteria, FORGET IT.

Another thing new about me since starting training is that i'm enjoying more & more TV series, mainly The Vampire Diaries. I seriously think this series is way~~~ better than the Twilight saga. No offence to Twihards out there. & that guy who plays bad-boy vamp Damon, actor Ian Somerhalder? H-O-T HOT~!!! ^_^ (Yeah, yeah, yeah. This is the umpteenth celeb i've developed a celeb crush on. So what? I'm a single girl. I'm not committed to anybody as of yet. Bite me xp)

Being silly, without a care for the world.. But time & distance were obstacles in our friendship. We drifted further apart when we started hanging out with different people & doing our own things, different things... I've noticed changes in you, & i feel like i don't know you anymore... Don't get me wrong; i'm happy that you're happy. But I miss the old times... I wanna go back to the old times... I miss my old friend... =( But life goes on, & i must move on, even if it hurts so...

It has been months since the goblin met the basilisk and he couldn't be happier. One day, the basilisk decided that they should stop at a cave in the forest by the mountains. In a few days, it would be the time for the basilisk to shed its old skin for a new one, during which the process will render the basilisk weaker and more vulnerable than usual. As the day closes by, the basilisk got weaker & the goblin had been taking care of its every whim. When the time finally came, the basilisk moulted and once done, it gained back its strength. Somewhat grateful, the basilisk thanked the goblin. The goblin couldn't content his excitement, and began smiling ear-to-ear like a cheshire cat. He even began skipping with joy as he hummed joyful tunes. The basilisk, expecting such reactions from its loyal but blind-to-the-truth servant, smiled slyly and his eyes narrowed with satisfaction...

Yesterday, Year 2 Biotechnology students taking the subject Cell Tissue Culture (CTC) had a poster exhibition, where respective groups had prepared posters related to Plant Tissue Culture (PTC) or Animal Tissue Culture (ATC). My group was on Somatic Embryogenesis & Plant Organogenesis i.e. PTC-related. How did we do? Okay, i guess, with the Q&A session, but it was way too short, in my opinion. I mean, i thought i saw other groups presenting & engaging in the Q&A session longer, but ours seems like for a mere 3-5 minutes O_O

Before you go "Yay! I'm a 'belieber' too teehee~~", i'ma set this straight; i don't give a shit about Justin Bieber. I see him as a Jesse McCartney wannabe. Yeah. The whole R&B thing, even his outfits are like a photocopy of Jesse's. Geez... Whenever i hear that girly voice of his on the radio, i just switch to another channel. I do that to other songs i'm not interested too, not just his. Don't get me wrong. Sure. Go ahead & hate me for not being infected by Bieber fever. Whatever. I'm not the only one who's not obsessed. In fact, his type of getting signed to a recording label, with superstar Usher what's more, with very little effort is the type that AAR's lead singer Tyson hates the most. Heck, he hates the JoBros for gaining fame after like 1-2 years of being in the music industry & in Disney, let alone Bieber, a 15 year-old who gained world wide fame & overly-obsessed-fangirls-whom-i-think-should-seriously-get-over-their-fucking-obsession-&-get-a-life just by posting a video on Youtube. I'm not siding Tyson because i'm a fan of AAR but if you think again, how the new artists are getting signed & fame all too easy is just fucking unfair to those who actually worked their asses off to get to where they are today. Well, no offense if you're a Belieber; i'm just sounding out my opinion on this issue.

More spoofs from newgrounds.com. This time, it's on Nintendo DS' Super Smash Brothers Brawl. This video game is the 3rd game in the series, which assembles characters from various Nintendo video games -from Super Mario, Pokemon, Metroid, Kirby, Star Fox, Legend of Zelda etc. etc. -, & recently some from other gaming companies, like Solid Snake is from Konami's Metal Gear Solid franchise & Sonic from Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog franchise. Anyway, enjoy the spoofs. My fave parts are the ones like the ever second fiddle Luigi -or rather "Wi~~gi"- from the Super Mario franchise & those involving characters from the Pokemon franchise, like that "It's super effective" part & that weird-voiced Pikachu XD

Finally after so long, i got to watch some movies at the theatres, when i went to KL for the weekend.

I watched this movie at Sunway Pyramid (**i hate the seatings there for being so 'up-straight', hardly any spaces for each seats & between the each rows x_x):

The Sorcerer's Apprentice [2010]

A film by Disney under the same team behind the National Treasure franchise, it tells about a sorcerer named Balthazar Blake (Nicholas Cage) searching for someone known as the Prime Merlinean who is destined & have the power to defeat the evil sorceress Morgana (Alice Crige). & who is this oh-so powerful destined sorcerer child who is the heir to Merlin's (James A. Stephens) powers? A physics geek by the name of Dave Stutler (Jay Baruchel). Storyline & settings wise? Kinda lame, 'cause the plot's so cliche & predictable. I mean, the whole thing about a young hero, who's a geek/nerd/loser, actually possessing much more potential than everyone think he does, being sought after by some person for 100-1000 years, to train/guide them to defeat the almighty villian? Seriously, how many times have we seen or heard of that plot =_=|| Acting wise? Jay's fine; kinda perfect for the 'loser' role, like he did in Tropic Thunder [2008]. Nicholas Cage's portrayal is kinda enjoyable, but Alfred Molina as rival sorcerer Maxim Horvath has nothing much worth praising. I prefer him as Doc-Oct in Spiderman 2 [2004], with the whole inner conflict from the failure in his experiment & inability to save his wife. But the worst acting would be Monica Bellucci as sorceress Veronica who's also the girl in the love triangle between Balthazar & Horvath. Seriously, the bitch has only one expression stoned to her face in all her appearances; it's exasperating!! It's more like looking at a fucking display dummy at the stores!! The special effects are kinda good, with the electricity & giant steel eagle, but that lame plasma ball-thing magic they used seriously reminds me of Rockman X's X-buster going rapid-shot mode. Another plus side is the song that was played pretty often in the movie, One Republic's "Secrets". Yet, there's that stupidity in almost every movie where the civilians are completely oblivious to what's going on, even when a giant metal steel eagle is flying above New York City!! New York City, god damn it, the city that never sleeps!! However, i do enjoy the scene where Dave reenacted The Sorcerer's Apprentice segment from Disney's Fantasia [1940] -ya' know, the one with young apprentice Mickey using his master Yensid's wizard hat & casting a spell on a broom to come to life to fetch water from the well for him- thus making Dave as Mickey, & his master Balthazar as Yensid. I guess i like that scene 'cause it's so nostalgic. Come on! That broom-come-to-life-to-do-the-chores scene is one of the most iconic scene in Disney history!! But i guess most people don't really know about it... =_= Overall, this movie's just a regular movie, that you can watch if you wanna catch some laughs on a boring day. But if you're looking for quality movies, don't bother spending your cash on this one.

For the next movie, i watched it at Pavilion (**the seats there are way~~~~ better with wider seats & more space between each rows, & the best of all, lower-reclined seats so that my neck doesn't hurt so much ^^):

Inception [2010]

A film by Christopher Nolan who directed outstanding movies like Batman Begins [2005] & The Dark Knight [2008]. The movie is about a group of people who has the ability to share a person's dreams and steal the information -the process known as 'extraction'- that is hidden deep within the subject's subconscious. However, as the title implies, the main plot is on inserting an information or rather an idea into the subject's subconscious through dreams, but this process known as 'inception' is riskier & much more complicated than 'extraction'. In terms of settings, i admit the originality of people being vulnerable to having information stolen from & ideas implanted into your subconscious through dreams is genius. & the way Nolan made humans themselves are capable of being the mastermind of the dreams, though not completely, instead of the natural randomness of dreams is a breath of fresh-air. As for acting, the best ones would be Leonardo Dicaprio's portrayal of guilt-ridden and inner-conflicted Dominic Cobb, the de-facto leader of the team of dream..um..manipulators? Ok, whatever, the term doesn't really matter.. You can tell just by looking into his eyes that he is disturbed by something heavy which he feels that he can't do anything or feel helpless about it. Another awesome performance is by Marion Cotillard as Dom's delusional deceased wife, Mal. The scene where she frantically screamed out her frustration at Dom freaked me out! The special effects are amazing like the part where the entire landscape literally risen from the ground itself and was at a 90-degree angle from the ground! & that one part of the climax where Arthur (Joseph Gordon-Lewitt) fought off some 'security personnels', all in zero gravity! How cool is that! The soundtracks are by Hans Zimmer, which is the reason why some of the scores are kinda familiar with those from The Dark Knight. Storyline wise? Ve~~~~ry confusing, especially if you don't pay attention to every possible detail throughout the movie. I didn't focus much on one or 2 scenes, & that left me dazed & confused after the movie ended until my bro explained it to me =S But the suspense, the entire mission of incepting and Dom's character development are mind-blowing. Overall, Inception is one great hell-of-a-movie! But, is it GREAT ENOUGH to beat Nolan's previous work The Dark Knight? In my opinion, nope. 'Cause storyline wise & character development wise, The Dark Knight wins hands down, with the main plot revolving around the conflicts faced in the attempt to stop The Joker (Heath Ledger) & a big bunch of crooks & mafias alike, not forgetting the corruption in the authority forces, resulting in the characters being unsure of whom they can actually trust. The characters development of The Joker as a cold-blooded, psychopath killer sends chill to the bones -there was a part though when he disguised as a nurse to get into the hospital which is just too funny & it'll crack you laughing LOLZ-, & the tragic events that came upon D.A. Harvey Dent (Aaron Eckhart) that leads him into the darkside, are beyond amazing. The only thing i hate about the movie is Batman's (Christian Bale) raspy voice when he's doing his 'hero works'; it's like he's having a sore-throat =_=|| Nonetheless, i'm standing with my opinion that The Dark Knight is still the BEST WORK by Nolan.

For some reasons, i got the urge to sketch creatures, mythical or fictional. So, after my genetics test, i started with a fictional creature: 召喚獣 - バハムート (Summoning Beast Bahamut) from the Final Fantasy series. At first, i thought that it won't be that hard to sketch that 'Dragon King', the most popular summoning beast in the series. But as i start working on it, man!! How tiring & complicated!! To character designers Amano Yoshitaka-sensei & Nomura Tetsuya-san, i salute you both for your talent in designing not only creatures so detailed & beautiful as such, but also the amazing sceneries & characters ^^

Selfish, blind child

Pretty much my whole life i've been really selfish. I've frequently complaint about my miseries, without even thinking about how others feel or the possibility of them being even less fortunate than me... Especially with my family. Whenever there's something that doesn't go the way i want it to be, i'd be gloomy & steamy. My face darkens & i tend to blow my top at others... Sure, some of them might not seem affected nor hurt by my behavior, but i know deep down they're bleeding from my impulsive nature & venomous words... Yet, they're always there for me when i need them. & i've taken them for granted...

Just like today; i was upset when there're some complications with my applications for industrial training/internship. It made me lose my appetite during dinner & i was sure that i'd be pretty much depressed for God knows how long. However, a few phone calls to my parents & bro made me realise that while i was whining like a li'l 5 year-old who can't get her candy or toy, my parents have been doing as much as they can to ensure better opportunities for my internship, & my bro just recently went through another relapse of misfortune -the 1st time in may 2008... Instead of making such a big deal out of his problem, he handled it calmly & professionally.. Unlike li'l me who'd be throwing a tantrum if i'm in his shoes... As for my dad, sure, i bicker with him a lot, more often recently regarding this whole internship issue, but he's always trying to ensure i get the best possible spot at the best possible company that'll be a great help for my career path in the future. Mom too, has been encouraging me non-stop when i've started to give up hope. But the worst victim of my selfishness would be my bro. He's done so much for me, especially when i was down with that awful gut-infection 2 years ago, yet i've never really showed nor gave him a proper sign of gratitude... In fact, all this time, i've been trying to outdo him in almost anything. I was jealous of him being the smart & talented one in the family...

I'm really sorry for being so self-centered & blind to everything you all've done for me... Es tut mir wirklich leid... 本当に, ごめんなさい... You've done so much for me, yet never ask much in return, except for me to be a successful person. I love you all. You all might not be the perfect family in the eyes of others, but you are to mine, & i would never have asked for any other family but you. Love ya' & take carez~~~

Me VS Popularity

Popularity. Strong word. You might not think much about it as a kid, but as soon as you step into your tween years -age of 10-12-, popularity is kinda your unofficial goal in life. To be well-known to others. To have others greet you the minute you enter the room, & be the talk of those around you. Basically i'm talking about the positive popularity. I mean, nobody wants to be known to public for something negative, do they? Not unless they're that desperate for attention of course -say, Lindsay Lohan, Heidi Montag, Michelle "Bombshell" McGee etc. etc.-

How do i say this? ... To me, positive popularity is practically born in some people. Especially those talented ones & those with good-looks. The ones that get popular solely based on look, nothing else, is what that brings out the green-eyed monster in me. In fact, some hardly need to do anything, & people comes crawling to their feet to be their friend, or asking them out on a date. Ugh..! I know it's not like it's wrong or anything, but i just feel that it's unfair! Life isn't fair. That's a fact. People tend to judge others based on looks more often than don't. Sometimes, even those talented ones didn't get a chance to shine against those good-lookin' Adonis' & Aphrodite's.

I've never been popular. People don't even notice me or know my name despite being in the same class or same club for some time... Unless you're considering the time i was known quite widely among the student body as a freak for an unknown period back in junior high/high school, thanks to some bitch who betrayed my trust. As of now, i guess it's my sharp tongue, cold behaviour, ugly & talentless self that drove people away from me...

Great. I just got myself into negative thinking again, this time through stupid jealousy, when prior to this episode i was kinda happy... Guess this shows how volatile i am. Just like burning fire...

The basilisk & the goblin

Long ago in a land far, far away, there lived a Goblin. The goblin was different from others of his kind. Instead of being a trouble maker, he was a helpful creature in the woods. In fact, he had a lot of friends in the form of pixies, fairies, rabbits, hedgehogs among others. The goblin had a happy, peaceful life. However, it all started to change on one fateful day.

While strolling around the woods, the goblin came upon an injured Basilisk. Blessed with his helpful nature, the goblin decided to help the poor Basilisk and nurse it back to health, despite being somewhat afraid of the Basilisk's piercing eyes. Little did the goblin know that the basilisk was cooking up something for the goblin...

As days wents by, the basilisk was healing from its injuries, thanks to the goblin's hospitality. Seeing how pure and naive the goblin was to the various ugly truths of reality, the cunning snake slowly fed the goblin with beautiful lies and negative ideologies to how he should live his life. Enticed by the basilisk's words and no longer afraid of it, the goblin took up the basilisk's 'advice' and started to be how goblins usually are; cunning, mischievious & grotesquely evil. The goblin was successfully controlled by the basilisk to do it's every bidding like a puppet on a string. It was undoubtly extremely loyal to the king of serpents, seeing things through rose-coloured glasses. Every syllable coming out of the basilisk's lips were law to the moral-blind goblin. Every action by the basilisk were like act's of God. Everything of the basilisk was holy and almighty to the goblin. The now vile creature was practically kissing the basilisk's feet, if it ever had feet... He would follow the snake wherever it go, like baby chicks tailing their mother hen. Together, both creatures spread chaos throughout the forest. After the basilisk was bored of creating havoc at that single place, it decided to move on to next the place where the inhabitants were enjoying peace, with its newly acquired servant tailing behind.

Disney/Pixar animated features

Ahh~~ Disney/Pixar animated movies. Call me childish for still liking them. I'm proud to be a kid at heart. These movies are heart-warming, yet never fail to bring laughter & joy to viewers of all ages. I remember watching the very first Disney/Pixar animated movie, or rather the first ever CGI-animated movie, Toy Story back in 1995 at the old cinema. & boy, i remember being a bit scared of the antagonist of the movie, a naughty boy named Sid (voiced by Erik von Detten) who, as quoted by the plastic T-rex toy Rex (v: Wallance Shawn), "tortures toys, just for fun!". C'mon! I was a mere 4 year-old back then XP My fave characters in the franchise are Sheriff Woody (v: Tom Hanks), Buzz Lightyear (v: Tim Allen) & the clumsy, antsy Rex. My fave part is when Woody desperately tried to convince Buzz he's a toy, going all "YOU! ARE! A! TOY!!! You're just an action figure! You, are a child's PLAY THING!!" LOLZ & then there was the part where Buzz's going cuckoo-in-the-head after losing all hope from realising the truth that he is in fact a toy, & he was speaking gibberish & like "You see the hat?! I am Mrs! Nasbits!! Ha ha ha!" before being smacked in the head by Woody, which the smack gave out a squeaker-like sound XD

After Toy Story, there was A Bug's Life [1998], a story about duh~ bugs. It features the lives of a colony of ants treated as servants to a swarm of grasshoppers, & one inventor ant named Flik (v: Dave Foley) decided to gather a group of 'warrior bugs' to help them fight off the grasshoppers. In the movie, the ants have 2 pairs of appendages -2 legs, & 2 hands-, instead of 3 pairs like in real life, & they're all blue in colour LOLZ & the grasshoppers are pretty much like biker gangs with the leader Hopper (v: Kevin Spacey) saying "Let's ride!" whenever he & his grasshoppers gang are to leave the place. I like the part where Slim the walking stick insect (v: David Hyde Pierce) had to act as another prop; one time as a sword just after he complained about being cast at the circus he worked at as a prop constantly. He even made some sound effects "Swing! Swing! Swish! Swish!" with an annoyed face HAHA & there was also Heimlich (v: Joe Ranft), a huge caterpillar who remained gluttonous as always even after becoming a butterfly; with a pathetic small pair of wings XD

Monsters, Inc. [2001] - movie rating: 4.5/5 (**Sulley's shocked expression is priceless; when he thought that the li'l girl Boo was being stomped, crashed & sliced into cubes along the trash, when in fact she's safe & sound since she wasn't really with the trash at all the whole time XD **)

Finding Nemo [2003] - movie rating: 5/5 (**the love of a father for his one & only son is beautiful, with him crossing oceans to retrieve back his kidnapped son. & Dory's perky attitude really brightens up the room ^^ **)

The Incredibles [2004] - movie rating: 4/5 (**a different approach; in the form of superheroes. & when it comes to superheroes, it means 'underwear on the outside & really tiny feet' XD there was also a parody of Spiderman 2 -the part where the hero tries to stop the train from going over the tracks- **)

Ratatouille [2007] - movie rating: 5/5 (**an animated film that makes my mouth water everytime i watch it with the various delicacies of gourmet French cuisine =9 & the idea of a rat who's a chef-genius is cute XD **)

It's actually supposed to be a picture, but drawing pieces of a broken mirror & landscape is harder than i thought x_x so i ended up writing a poem instead. I got the inspiration one night when i unsurprisingly got upset again (i'm not telling the reason here; & NO, it's got nothing to do with my studies). Let's say one day you find yourself all stressed out. So, what to do to cheer you up? Well, there're many ways. Among them are 1)hanging out with your loved ones who'll make you feel better; 2)venting out those emotions positively like through a song, or poem, or drawing etc. etc.; 3)finding something that'll crack you up. Here's option 3). i.e. This post is on how some of the videos i've watched recently crack me up with the gags, which some people -myself included for some of them- might think they're lame or go all "WTF is this SHIT?!", but they still made me laugh.

Video 1: The Unexpected **seriously, you'll be shocked as i am XD**

Video 2: Dan the Man **it's cute, the gameplay is kinda like the Super Mario games -rescuing the kidnapped damsel-in-distress**

Video 3: Tyson's (AAR frontman) antics during the MTV World Stage (last year in August) press conference **life of the party, that Tyson ^^**

& speaking of gags, i've read a bit of the manga version of Rockman Zero (or known in english speaking countries as Megaman Zero; that applies for all Rockman series, changing the names to Megaman). Rockman Zero is actually a video games series -platform action game btw- by Capcom. Long story short, the storyline of the manga is super lame & completely runs in a different path from the original storyline, but some of the gags are funny although lame.

I find Rockman X5 has the best story in the X-series, but i still prefer the gameplay in X6 with the whole challenge of the nightmare virus & its creator Gate, rescuing the reploids -that rewards us with parts to enhance our abilities-, & somehow the more rock-theme soundtracks -mainly the OST at Blaze Heatnix stage, Gate's lab, & Gate's theme- XD **click on the OST title for the music**

Well, kinda.. not totally... 'cause we have our finals coming up.. It's just that today is the last day for any lessons whatsoever. Mine should've been yesterday evening, but some f**king bastard changed everything, & so i had to go to campus today, just for one freakin' 10-minute oral presentation, when it should've been done yesterday morning!!! WTF?!! & being like 20 minutes 'fashionably' late!! What?!! Ya' think ya' some kinda VIP or something?!! Makin' us wait for you all the time?!!

......

Anyway, since there's no more class for me, i decided to kick back for the day. What else? Movies & series, of course! Been catching up with the latest season of CSI: NY a lot lately. & watched some movies too. Some Oscar-winning performances, some comedy, some just plain "Meh~"-material.
**side fact: Best Actress Oscar winners Julia Roberts, Hilary Swank & Kate Winslet were said to be under the so-called "Best-Actress-Curse", since after they won that Oscar & they thanked their partners after receiving the accolade, they ended up splitting up with their partners. I'm just saying. Check this link out.

Pretty Woman [1990]

One of the most popular romantic comedies of all time. Starring Oscar-winner Julia Roberts -she didn't win the Oscar for this movie, but for Erin Brockovich [2000]-(as Vivian Ward) & Richard Gere (as Edward Lewis). Basically, it's a pretty typical romantic comedy. Edward was lost in Hollywood Boulevard -around the red-light district area- & asked for directions to Beverly Hills from local prostitute Vivian. But circumstances led Edward to hire Vivian as his companion for the week. Of course, everybody knows what comes after that; the cliche love plot, don't need me to tell ya'all that =] Julia was amazing in her portrayal as a prostitute who was rare, as she was not only against drugs, but also unsafe sex, & so was Richard for his character who's a lonely, anti-social billionaire who eventually learned to lighten up & enjoy life. The movie also highlights the dangers of drugs, the stereotyping in society -even today- on how people tend to judge others based on their appearances, & of course, how crazy & irrational people can be because of money. Hector Elizondo also stars, as Bernard Thompson, the golden-hearted manager of the hotel Richard & Vivian were staying for the week, & there were also other casts besides Hector from Disney's The Princess Diaries with some minor roles; Kathleen Miller (as the day desk clerk) & Larry Miller (as Mr Hollister, owner of one of the boutiques where Vivian shopped for dresses -as usual, Larry's characters are always those who are butt-kissing to people who will benefit them XD)

Boys Don't Cry [1999]

Based on real events, it depicts the life of transsexual Brandon Teena (portrayed by Hilary Swank) who got involved with people he shouldn't have; he met them after they joined in a bar fight he caused. Since then, he's been living with those low-lives, without them knowing the fact that Brandon is actually a SHE. Eventually, the cats out of the bag, & that's when the nightmare happens. Hilary's acting was brilliant, no doubt that she deserved that Best Actress Oscar for her role. The movie highlights the effect of hanging out with the wrong people & getting influenced by them, drugs, crimes, murder & ...rape issues. Peter Sarsgaard was cast as one of the antagonists, real-life criminal John Lotter, & i was seriously disgusted with this John guy -the real John, 'cause this is a documentary movie of the events that happened around 17 years ago. Thank God this guy was sentenced to a death penalty. His partner in crime, Tom Nissen (portrayed by Brendan Sexton III) was sentenced to life in prison for testifying against him. & since this movie is about Brandon, a transsexual, it also depicts his, or rather her, romantic relationship with another girl, which -pardon me if i'm being prejudice- i find a li'l bit uneasy to watch...
**WARNING!:For those who really CAN'T STAND same-sex love, STAY AWAY from this movie...

Milk [2008]

Another real life story, based on gay-rights activist & politician Harvey Milk (portrayed by Sean Penn, who won another Best Actor Oscar for this; he already won one for his portrayal in Mystic River [2003]), who was also the 1st openly gay man to be elected to public office in California. The movie highlights his life from the day he met his lover Scott Smith (portrayed by James Franco), to the moment of his famed assassination. Along the course of the movie, it shows how strong his determination is to protect his rights as a citizen -that just because he's gay, he shouldn't be looked down upon by the public, & that he deserves whatever other citizens have-, which prompted him to run for office in California to change how things run. Of course, being a politician, he's bound to have enemies, the worst in the form of another politician, Dan White (portrayed by Josh Brolin) who's against Harvey after the latter refused to support the former on his preposition. The movie depicts the discrimination society has against people who aren't straight that there's prejudism to the point of murder or leaving them to die. Sure, minorities will always have disadvantages against majorities -that part of reality is always gonna smack us in the face-, but as quoted, "You gotta give them hope, because without hope, life is not worth living." The movie also stars Emile Hirsch -from Speed Racer [2008]-, Lucas Grabeel -from High School Musical franchise [2006-2008]- & Victor Garber -from Titanic [1997]- as Cleve Jones, Danny Nicoletta & Mayor George Moscone respectively, the former 2 also gay-rights activists.
**WARNING!:For those who really CAN'T STAND same-sex love, STAY AWAY from this movie...

The Reader [2008]

Another Oscar-winning performance by its lead character, this time by British actress Kate Winslet (ya'all know her from Titanic [1997], who acted alongside hottie Leonardo Dicaprio). Anyway, she portrayed an illiterate 30-something, Hanna Schmitz who started an affair with a 15 year-old, Michael Berg (David Kross) whom she helped when she found him sick at some back alley. But their relationship was on rocks when she was being more & more paranoid & insecure with her illiteracy, & after some years, after she suddenly left without notice, when Michael was in college, she was sentenced to prison for life, for something she's innocent of, but admitted to out of fear of people discovering her illiteracy. Great acting, by Kate. The way she was paranoid, the way she felt betrayed by her co-workers, the way she fears of her illiteracy being known to others out of embarrassment, the way she was determined to learn how to read -sometime near the end of the movie-, bri~li~ant. The movie is set in Germany, some time after WWII, so there's some mention on the horrible holocaust incident... Ralph Fiennes -from Harry Potter movies & Red Dragon- also stars, as the adult version of Michael.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Squeakquel [2009]

Nothing much about it, but some cute, squeaky voice singing. Continuing from the 1st movie, former wealthy music record label owner Ian Hawke (David Cross) sets out for revenge against the chipmunks, Alvin (voiced by Justin Long), Simon (v: Matthew Gray Grubbler) & Theodore (v: Jesse Mccartney), by getting the chipmunks' female counterparts, the chipettes, Brittany (v: Christina Applegate), Jeanette (v: Anna Faris) & Eleanor (v: Amy Poehler), to steal the spotlight. & instead of having protective, loving, dad-material Dave Seville (Jason Lee) to look after the boys as they start enrolling in high school, they instead have video-game fanatic Toby (Zachary Levi, from TV Series Chuck). Some of the jokes & puns are actually pretty lame; i prefer the 1st movie. Still, Theodore is so adorable~~~ XOXO ^^ or rather, "Theodorable~~" XD Just like his voice actor, R&B singer Jesse Mccartney hehe

Supercross [2005]

A movie on the sports of supercross. It's on 2 brothers who are motorcross riders, but the frequent acts of irresponsibility, irrationality & recklessness by the younger bro Trip (Mike Vogel) drove the older bro KC (Steve Howey) off the wall & drifted them apart for a long period. So, serious KC got accepted into a huge factory racing team NAMI -thinking it was his biggest break ever-, while rebel Trip joined another team -a team owned by his love interest's family-, but competed as a personal racer. The bros eventually reconciled after some events, & KC discovered himself & his dreams. The movie plot's cliche; nothing much to add. Kinda straight to the point in fact. But s~weeet~~ moves by the stuntmen on those scrambler motorcycles as they jump up all those huge bumps on the track ^^ Also stars Robert Patrick -from Terminator 2: Judgement Day [1991]-(as Earl Cole), Sophia Bush -from TV Series One Tree Hill-(as Zoe Lang) & former popstar Aaron Carter (as Owen Cole).

Backstreet Boys. Notably the most successful boyband, or should i say, male vocal group (since the guys of BSB didn't really like the term 'boyband') ever. Started out with Brian Littrell, A.J McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, & Kevin Richardson (who left the group in 2006 to pursue other interests). The group has been active in the music industry since 1993, selling over 130 million records worldwide. They have 7 studio albums & 4 extended project albums. & for the cherry on top of the sundae, consisting of their beautiful singing voice, lyrics & music, awesome dance moves, the guys are also eye-candy ^^ Especially Nick & Brian, in my POV XD
